Pie Safe is a small batch bakery located in the historic former Forest City National Bank on Main Street in Forest City. The safe within the bank provided inspiration for the business name. It specializes in a variety of confectioneries, including cheesecakes, muffins, cookies, scones, and, as the name suggests, pies.
The bakery is owned and operated by Stephanie and John Higgins. The husband and wife duo grew up in Rutherford County and decided to revitalize the historic bank in 2018 to pursue their passion and the business of baking.
Stephanie is the baker behind the company’s famous sweets and a member of our food insecurity committee. You can find her elbows deep in flour tinkering with recipes and coming up with holiday-themed desserts that are as beautiful as they are delicious. John is the Owner-Pharmacist of Smith’s Drugs. The serial entrepreneur loves being able to serve his community and is committed to helping the town of Forest City flourish.
Each of PieSafe’s treats is made fresh daily with no added preservatives. You can expect to see PieSafe products like muffins, scones, pie, and coffee (hot & iced) to wash your sweets down at each market.
