In Bloom Flower Farm is a 6th-generation farm located in Ellenboro, NC. The farm specializes in producing cut flowers, herbs, floral design/weddings, and skincare products. In Bloom Flower Farm believes in sustainable agricultural practices. Its flowers and herbs are grown without pesticides and herbicides in the farm’s main 2-acre production field and various supplemental gardens around the property.
In Bloom Flower Farm is owned by Addison Green, our youngest vendor (20 years old). On top of managing the farm, he is also a student at UNC-Asheville and works several part-time jobs. The 20-year-old LGTBQ+ entrepreneur founded the farm during the COVID-19 pandemic when he was only 17 and will be the 6th generation to operate his family farm.
When working on the farm, Addison’s family is always on his heart and mind. His grandparents were his role models and support system growing up. After losing his grandparents suddenly and in short succession, he has dedicated himself to sharing their love for farming and flowers with the Rutherford County community. He said, “Everything I do on the farm is in honor and memory of my grandparents who believed in using what we grow to spread joy and happiness to others.” Warning if you drop by his booth, his passion for flowers will rub off on you!
In Bloom Flower Farm brings flower arrangements, herb bundles, skincare (body scrub, bath salts, face toner, bug spray, & rose water), live plants, and seeds/bulbs (Fall) to the Rutherford County Farmers Market.
Purchasing local cut flowers is the best way to get a unique bouquet or centerpiece that looks great longer. Flowers used in grocery store bouquets are usually the same few varieties, cut days before they reach the store, and bounced around in trucks. While In Bloom Flower Farm’s arrangements use diverse varieties that travel less than 15 miles to the market and are cut and arranged hours before you take them home.
Addison plans to continue to expand his flower production to offer u-pick experiences and more and more varieties of cut flowers.
