Ann and Russ’ Family Farm is a produce and flower farm located in Rutherfordton. The farm operates on 7.8 acres (half the acreage is dedicated to farming) and grows vegetables and flowers in raised beds and fruit throughout the property.
Ann and Russ’ Family Farm is owned and operated by Russ Burnick, an Army veteran (serving in Germany during the Berlin crisis). At 81, Russ is the Rutherford County Farmers Markets’ oldest and longest continuous participating vendor. The former Wisconsinite is a lifelong gardener who helped tend his family garden as a child and as a younger man had a 3-acre home garden.
Farming and gardening have truly been lifelong pursuits for Russ. We’re happy he’s spent a lot of those years farming with us, and we’re thankful for the contributions he’s made to the evolution of the market!
Russ is constantly experimenting with new varieties. He loves to surprise, educate, and give market customers the opportunity to purchase something unique when they visit the market.
