Vandele Farms on Cedar Creek is a livestock operation on 60 beautiful acres in Lake Lure in Rutherford County, NC. This land has been in their family for decades, and they plan to raise and process livestock here for years to come.
Starting as a small-scale pasture-raised pig operation in 2010, Vandele Farms quickly grew to meet increased demand in North Carolina for local, sustainable, and humanely raised livestock. In 2013 the couple expanded their operation by adding a NCDA certified processing facility to the grounds. Most recently, they added grass-fed beef to their farm’s offerings.

The farm is co-owned and operated by Larry and Kathleen (Kat) Crocker. Larry and Kat have been raising livestock together in the mountains of North Carolina for over a decade. Larry has been involved with raising livestock his entire life. He was raised on a farm and started working at a local dairy at just 14. Kathleen is a Western Carolina graduate who became a CHA Clinic Instructor in Equestrian. She has loved animals all of her life.
The couple’s goal is to provide quality pork and beef for their community while also serving as good stewards of their family land. They believe as farmers, their duty is first to the land, then to the animals, then to the customer. Luckily, for our farmers market customers, they take their duty to the land and their animals very seriously!
