Rutherford BARN Announces New Website for Farmers Market

New website makes it easy to meet vendors and learn about impactful community-based programs

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, NC, August 6, 2020—Rutherford BARN, an innovative non-profit organization that supports a locally-based food system, recently announced a new website for its Rutherford County Farmers Market. The marketplace, which is open every Saturday throughout October, provides a viable, sustainable local food system designed to help nourish Rutherford County residents. 

“The farmers market provides residents with a shopping experience that minimizes the inconvenience of buying locally and mitigates the potential for exposure to COVID-19,” says David Hislop, Market Manager. “Our farmers grow everything they sell themselves or work with another farmer to increase the availability of these hyper-local foods, always with transparency.”    

The market’s new website features a user-friendly, mobile-responsive interface, offering visitors a modern and efficient web browsing experience. In addition, the concise navigation and well-defined pages provide plenty of informative content without being overwhelming. Visitors can easily locate market information and news, current programs, and contact details. Those interested in becoming vendors, market sponsors, or volunteers can quickly find the information they need.

Through an integration with Farmzie, a web-based platform that allows farmers to sell their products online, the Rutherford County Farmers Market will soon enable customers to buy directly from local farms and conveniently pre-order items for pick-up.
